I am getting married. My spouse is in Tennessee and I am in Alaska. What's the process I need to get her moved here? Will the Army help?

First off congratulations! Yes, the Army will help you get your spouse to Alaska, but only after your married. Your partner will need to take a physical immediately for an EFMP (exceptional family member program) screening. This is just to make sure that they can fully support your spouse medically! Make sure once you are married you turn in all your paperwork to finance and get them enrolled in DEERs. Make sure you do your research! If your on JBER, everything you need is in the welcome center. Use your resources and plan ahead that way when you are married, everything will go smoothly and you will have your spouse with you in no time!

I have ran into this with my own soldiers. If she currently resides at your home of record or the city/location of where you originally enlisted from, than the army will pay to move her to where you are currently stationed. However there are ways around it and it mainly depends on post policy.
