When you look at your Clothing Record, you will see at the far right a column that says ETS Transfer Y/N. If there is a Y, then you keep it forever. If there is a N then you are to turn it in.

That said, if you turned in all the N items when you cleared out of the Reserves but are still present on your Record, as long as you have documentation stating you've cleared, then show that to your gaining Active Duty unit Supply Sergeant and work with them to get your records cleared up.

SPC (Join to see), assuming the situation is one where you turned it in but it wasn't properly reflected on your Clothing Records, then let me foot stomp on MSG Livingston's comment about documentation.

Until it is rectified and your Clothing Record is updated, hang onto that documentation. Take a clear discernible picture of it and keep it on your phone and/or attached to a draft email. Put the hard-copy in a safe location that you will easily remember where it is.

On the other hand, if it's something you didn't turn-in because you lost it ... well, you can replace it and turn in the item or you can be prepared to pay the "CIF cost"* when they get around to it.

COL Randall C. ok yes this is exactly what happened. I have all the documentation. I went AD and trying to clear cif is nearly impossible without it being fixed.

If you find a way do it, I had a hard time when I came back to AD and I still have DCUs on my records...painful situation
