Is it possible to decline Warrant Officer selection, and then reverse that decision later on?
I was selected in the July 2015 board but I had just become engaged, my personal life was in flux, and we weren't sure whether the Army would work with my relationship, so I declined my selection... But now that we're married, we know that we can make it work. Is there any way that I can take it back??

My understanding is that once you have declined the offer to attend WOCS, you will have to reapply from scratch and your packet must be presented to the board for consideration.

Hmmmm I would talk to an additional source on that. I have a Soldier in my unit who declined his selection at the same time I accepted, and he was able to apply again when his circumstances changed a couple years later. .. of course, this was 7 years ago, so the regulations may have changed since then. ..

Chief, that was the answer I received from a SFC from the Warrant Officer Recruiting Team. Is there someone else that you would recommend that I speak to? It would seem that the Recruiting Team would be the ones to make the final call on this...

I know someone personally that declined after being selected due to family issues. One year later he reapplied and was accepted. So it is possible. I understand this post may be 2 years old, but for future soldiers, it IS possible.

Hope your side is more forgiving that it was on my Navy side in the day. Turning something down tells the board you really didn't want it in the first place. Saw that in Millington. However, if the SM was exceptional then it could be overcome. So make sure your input doesn't give the impression that you just got over a head case. Good luck.

A Reservist can resubmit a packet even if they were previously selected but declined school attendance. Situations change.

Sergeant Major, even though I am Active Duty, and I wish to remain on Active Duty, is it possible to apply for Warrant Officer through the Army Reserve, yet stay on active status? I know that W01s are assigned to the Army Reserve in an active status and switch back over to Active Duty when they are commissioned as CW2s, but is it possible to apply as an actual Army Reserve Warrant Officer yet fully serve in an active status after commissioning as a CW2?
Another issue is that the population of my WOMOS (352S) in the Army Reserve is very small if it isn't actually zero...

I don't believe that would be possible. There are AGR Warrant officers. I dont think they have them in your specialty. I can have one of my WO recruiters look into it for you. Why don't you send me a separate email. [login to see]
