I found a Joint Staff Permanent Order in my iPerms for the Joint Meritorious Unit Award that doesn’t name my unit. Am I authorized it?

I had the ISAF patch and the Joint Center for International Security Assistance is named in the order.

Check your deployment orders and see what unit you were truly assigned to and if you have a position on a Joint Manning Document (JMD). The center you were in still maybe part of ISAF HQs

JMUA is only for the Staff of a Joint unit not attached units.

While that is normally the case there are exceptions and it would be better to check the JMUA list on the USD for Personnel and Readiness or The Adjutant General Directorate Awards and Decoration Branch to be sure.
