I’m in the National Guard and I suffered a fractured hip in training during my 11B AIT a couple months ago and I have to reclass as an 42A does anyone know what the process is like and what my timetable is before I get to my new unit for AIT? I already signed my 4707 and I’m wondering how long it will take before I leave I am currently a holdover.

Hold your horses Kemohsabee!!!!
1. You need to focus on a full recovery from your injury. No shortcuts!!!!
2. Not sure how the NG tackle the issue but do not get released from active duty unless a full care package is in place. Remember, you left the MEPS 100% fit and healthy.
3. Your next MOS training will required you to be fully recovered.
4. Talking about reclassifying, is 42A offered to you by your unit?

From what I’ve seen, any hip fracture in basic training that leads to a discharge is uncatagorized or GUHC and the Military deams the injury to have occurred prior to service

It all depends on the availability of class seats for you to get a slot. This time can vary from a couple days to a couple months. Additionally, if you haven't been medically cleared from your OSUT injury, this could also affect the processing time.
