That’s an HQDA bar, which means you royally screwed up to get that. You can not do anything. No re-enlistment, no extensions, no reclass, nothing.

And it’s a pain in the ass to get that removed. You’ve have 4 years to complete it, but we’re obviously too lazy to do so

SSG (Join to see) got a question for you concerning SSD1 and DLC1. I already took SSD1 before I got out the first time will I have to take DLC1 as well now that I'm back in?

Yes that is exactly what that means. You must finish DLC1 you should have been enrolled when you pinned E4. It takes two weeks for the code to come off after you complete the training. You’ll also receive an RE3 code on your DD214 requiring a waiver if you want to rejoin and you can be separated early if you take longer than a year to complete it

SPC (Join to see) So, playing devils advocate here. Why was it not completed? Get with your Schools NCO to be scheduled for it again. I am not familiar with the code, so I would have to let someone else answer that. Maybe SFC (Join to see) or MSG (Join to see) .

SPC (Join to see) - Well, Soldier. I have to say that your "not thinking about it" mentality really screwed yourself. Good luck getting that removed. The other side of that coin is that your NCOs failed you in ensuring that you completed it. So, basically, it was a poodle screw from all sides. This is a guaranteed route to out of the Army for you. Your best course of action, if you wish to remain in the service, is to get with your Retention NCO and Chain of Command to see what you have to do to get this BAR removed.
