I was medically retired for my Hip issue, then my knee, then my wrists, then my shoulders, now my back and compressed spine and ruptured ....(something she said). Anyways, the hot tub should help with recovery after the MANY surgeries and Physical therapy. So I have put out the almost 11k myself from savings.
Question 1: Should I even ask for help in funding this?
Question 2: Do you have any suggestions on how to do obtain funding if you answered yes to number 1.

@SGT James Abbott. The VA covers up to $2000 for home modifications for qualified disabilities. It may be worth a shot for you to request it but it should be named someting like "swirling water device with temperature ganging from [x to y], designed for moderate ambulatory abilities, etc.]

LTC Stephen F. , you are correct. What you described is typically is apllied to those with non-service connected disabilities. (may vary of course)
SGT James Abbott , you are elgibile to apply for a grant for more funding. You can apply by completing VA Form 26-4555, Veterans Application in Acquiring Specially Adapted Housing or Special Home Adaptation Grant, and submitting it to your local VA Regional Loan Center.
Also did your doctor write your paperwork as requiring hydrotherpay that is necessary to your recovery from surgeries and future therpay needed? Remember it's all in the wording.
You may also apply online; please visit the Veteran’s portal at http://www.ebenefits.va.gov to register andsubmit an application for Specially Adapted Housing benefits.
I've provided two links, the facts sheet has the most updated grant increase amount, the VA pamphlet(the pamphlet is in 2 parts, one is the 2101(a) Grant fact Sheet and the other 2101(b) Fact Grant Sheet. has the amount at the time of publication which was around $63K:

You can try a GoFundMe campaign - let me know if you need help writing it up - most of the time, the initial write-up is critical in the response - many good causes get overlooked because they are not represented well.

If your Dr recommends hydrotherapy, it may play into getting it paid for, or a portion of it paid for.... I had a FM that needed this 3x a week for medical issues, and it was partially covered for home hydrotherapy
