I just tried on the Garmin T8 Bifidas at size 11w and they felt great but my standard issues are 9w. Is this normal?

Like most products depends on the brand. That’s why it’s best to physically try them.

Yea. Civilian size shoes I'm a 10.5. In the old Army black boots (and the newer boots they give recruits), I'm a 9W. In Danner boots, I'm a 10.5

Great boots. The Garmont NFS is twice as comfortable. My opinion: T8's are best reserved for field ops, NFS should be your go-to garrison boot.
