Yes it is the best kept secret. You must apply. Most enlisted spots deal with supply, or 42A administration. If you're not a 92A, 92Y or 42A, the easiest route is via the Recruiting Command.

SGT Porter, first you need to understand their are two AGR programs... the National Guard AGR, which allows their soldiers to remain within the state and most are title 32, although the NG AGR program now offers some title 10 positions serving outside the state. Also, as an 11B you are more likely to find an AGR position within a State NG. USAR AGR requires you to PCS just like active duty and you are title 10. Most NCO's pcs every 3-5 yrs. As an 11B you could go to HRC and at the end of your AGR application, add that you are willing to re-class MOS... 38B Civil Affairs enlisted does offer reclassification to qualify NCO's. For more information you should check out the HRC website if you are interested in USAR AGR positions. If you would rather stay in your state of choosing, check out that state NG website for AGR opportunities. Good luck to you!

Didn't even know there was a difference thank you Sir. I would definitely be willing to re-class and POG it out for the rest of my career.

Are you currently active duty? If you are, I would reach out to the National Guard Recruiting command in your state about six months prior to ETS. They can work with you so that you don't have a break in service. Also if you don't have a desire to return to your home state, the PA Guard is hiring AGR recruiters. If you are interested let me know and I will get you in touch with somebody.
