I'll be deploying soon and want to move my family back home while gone. Will we collect BAH based on the the city of residence?

My boyfriend is station in afghanistan and he told me that now is has to pay his flight back to the USA

SPC (Join to see) my experience would be it's where your stationed. I would check with your local JAG to be sure.

BAH is based on where you duty station is, not where you move your family.

Unless you plan on completely moving them (i.e. moving all furniture, getting out of the lease of or selling your current home) you will get the BAH for your duty station.

You will receive the BAH rate for where you are stationed unless you formally ask for an exception to policy. Ask your supervisor for a pay inquiry and take the issue to finance to see if they would even entertain that request.
