I made the jump last fall, just before I turned 35. I'm happy with my choice, although there are many days I wish I was an NCO again (payday isn't one of those days). Not sure if the age will be an issue or not. I direct commissioned so I was able to bypass a lot of the normal commissioning red tape.

you teach trees?

I went mustang and never regretted it, but obviously you know that being a butter bar will be very different than being an NCO. But if you feel you have the chops, go for it...

I figured they would be a bunch of saps that you had to bark at all the time.

A lot of NCO's will respect a 2LT with enlisted experience a lot more than a kid straight out of college.

SGT (Join to see) - if you advertise it. Given that in the Army you almost are always in cammies, it doesn't show as much as if you were in blues. Although I guess a CIB or CAB, or a Ranger flash or something as a 2LT would tell the story too.

When I got commissioned, I didn't have any pins from my enlisted time, so it didn't show....
