What does it mean if you get scheduled for an appointment with the VA regarding "compensation/pension"?

Va disability rules have changed. This will effect Vets differently depending on how long they have been rated for certain illness, condition etc. the material is easy to find in a google search and explains who and when these changes will effect what. One major example is the past scale for ratings waited Sleep Apnea at 50%, and PTSD starting at zero and up. Yes, a bit confusing. So the VA has spent a great deal of time adjusting values to be more in line with what is today though to be the most significant illness/injury/condition.

For the most part, 100 % and permanently disabled over age 55 are grandfathered into the changes meaning, they’ll likely not be effected. Those younger have always had the chance that they could be reviewed and modified.

There is also a (I believe) a mandatory screening for PTSD for those who have claimed it in the past it is a more refined evaluation which includes a full on program.

As for your visit, you should be able to call and ask what it’s about, specifically.
