I’m a nurse and yes I’m physically fit & and yes I’m still trying to improve my self physically. All the NCO/battles I’ve spoken to tell me they won’t give me slots because of my mos may someone confirm this or please give me guidance on how to go about securing a slot please I’m just trying to advance my career in the army. I’m a PFC if it makes a difference and passed a record APFT but I purposely did the minimum in pushups due to a wrist injury I had but I have scored 88 point on my push ups prior the other two events are no issue. Im willing to take another pt test and max or come close to maxing every event if that is what it takes. Someone please let me know if I’m just wasting my time think about it or how to go about it thanks in advance.

PFC Herrera,
There are no 68C slots within the 75th Ranger Regiment. You would need to be a 68W to secure a slot in RASP. If you are strictly trying to go to Ranger school, you are going to have one hell of a fight trying to convince MEDCOM to pay to send you to Pre-Ranger and Ranger and Ranger school. I can tell you the odds of that happening are as good as aliens invading. Im sure there are some 68C's who reclassed from infantry that were tabbed rangers, but you are not going to see an organic 68C with a tab. You can however re-enlist with airborne in your contract when your window opens.

Sending your MOS to Ranger school would be a huge waste of a spot at Ranger school.

Units are not authorized to send Soldiers to Airborne School unless the Soldier is on Assignment to an Airborne unit, or currently in one. There are 4 authorized 68C1 positions in the Army, you will not be authorized to go to one because there are many more than 4 68C1P in the Army now.
Your unit could request to send you to Ranger School, but you would have to pass PreRanger first. Your physical fitness has very little to do with whether you know and can perform skill level 1 common Soldier tasks like land nav, using an M249 or emplacing a Claymore.
If you want to enhance your career as a 68C, go to college, go to the BWAP, combatives, Air Assault, Soldier of the Quarter board, and pick up certs for your MOS like PHTLS, ACLS, BLS Instructor, or anything to expand your medical knowledge.
If you really want to be an Airborne Ranger, apply to RASP. If you pass they will reclass you to a 68W and send you to W1 Special Operations Combat Medic SOCM course, as well as Airborne, Ranger School, JumpMaster, and you’ll be on the cutting edge of trauma medicine today.
