I'm a photographer in the Los Angeles area. I'm looking to do a photo series of what PTSD looks like. Who would be willing to help?

Go to the VA on Wilshire. You'll find lots of vets, and I'm sure many will be willing to work with you...
I need more details, too. How do you intend to show what PTSD looks like through stills?

my first idea was to do something very simple and straight forward, using a white board and allowing them to write a few things people wouldn't expect them to be dealing with.

Katie Gladki might have a folks in LA that she knows. I know she's been very focused on the Project 22 film that just released.

SPC Julius Franklin - What is the actual reason or use of this project? Is this going to be used to actually, let a larger audience know what PTSD looks like, and how they manage their everyday lives or is this just a personal project that you want to do for your portfolio? These things have been done before and in some cases, it is nothing more than a pet project to diversify a portfolio and nothing ever happens with the project.
You may have great intentions, but you also have to remember, that these Veterans are going to let you in on their lives and how they have to deal with PTSD. If it is for the greater good and helping the Veterans, I commend you, but don't use it just to have a hobby project. That does all Veterans no go. PTSD is something that shouldn't be used as a side show.

as one that is dealing with PTSD my intentions are to make awareness to the families and friends and the community as whole. I know at times my family don't understand why Im not at family events or my social like how I once was. So I know there's othes that cant express the reasons why. But sharing with someone in the same boat my be an great outlet.

SPC Julius Franklin - Great to hear. There are to many in my opinion trying to take advantage of our fellow brothers and sisters in arms.
