I'm a prior service U.S. Marine and I just switched to the Army. I skip bootcamp and go to 88M AIT. How does it all work?

Since you are prior service you don't have to stay in the same barracks as the Soldiers who came straight from basic training. You should be able to drive your POV around. You normally get more privileges as long as you don't do anything stupid to get them taken away. Make sure you don't hang out or mess with the MOS-I Soldiers while you are there.

an MOS-I Soldier is what they call the Soldiers who come straight from basic training.

Not entirely true. I went through AIT a few months ago and prior service NCOs were in a separate barracks. Unfortunately, E4 and below prior service were intergrated with the rest of the company and somewhat treated the same. They were able to wear civies when the company hit gold phase. But, were still able to go out in liberty eveeyday with the other MOS-Ts

Classes have probably changed a little since I went thru AIT, but do what's asked of you, and you should do great.

Well the Marines are allot tougher than the army , I got out after 15 years I had a attitude problem I didn't like upper ranks yelling and spitting in my face they want respect then give me the same respect back I was a tank driver for the captain of our company and a big rig tanker driver I had a class-A with all endorsements lic:. So any advice don't go back in the service unless you truly love that life you get to travel at least .take care oh ra!!
