I'm a Reservist volunteering for deployments in the HRC site. How do I get picked up?

Search for a unit that is scheduled for mobilization in the near future and contact them about transferring in. If they need your MOS should be no problem. They might also take you on to re-class to another MOS if they are low in strength. If USAR talk to the gaining Unit Adminstrator, if NG contact the Strength Management or Inter-State Transfer Office at the state HQ. Good luck!

There should be someone at your higher command who handles volunteers. Not sure what you are looking for plus with the draw down I am not sure how many opprotunities are left out there. But I used to be a UA in the 88th RRC and we had a Major in the 88th we could call and give him the volunteers info and if he had a unit with that need mobilizing that soldier would usually get picked up. Sometimes withing a week or two of the phone call.

I have heard of IA (individual augmentee) positions for certain deployments, but from my understanding that is when a unit requests someone (not specific) from a specialized unit to come on the deployment. Is it possible for active duty soldiers to volunteer to deploy? I know around Fort Bragg specifically there is a lot of trading that can take place prior to a deployment. Is there an official way to make yourself available or is it all just...

In the Marines, we have what is called Individual Augment. We just go on to their webpage, look for what units/deployments are looking for a specific BIC, if you fall into that BIC you just apply with your EDIPI.
If there are no available openings you can be put onto a wait list. I am sure the Army has something similar. No?

Yea but it's so hard to try to get on one because everyone beats around the bush and don't give a straight up answer.

I wish I could me more help with your specific situation. However with my personal experience, there's only a few things you can do to expedite the process.
1. Fill out the appropriate paperwork, make sure it is up to date, and resubmit it as much as possible.
2. Make your coc aware of your aspiration to transfer to active. Every few months bug them and see if they made any headway.
3. Personally call the units you are trying to transfer to, and ask if/when they will have a shortfall, and if they know of any units with a personnel shortfall.
