I'm about to enter into MLC DL. Wondering if there is any input, guidance or insight on this course. The demands, the structure, etc....?

I found the class to be a tremendous waste of time. You will write 2 papers in apa format, only 1 will go toward your GPA. You will do three short answer essays, only two will go toward your GPA. That is all the work that impacts your GPA. Everything else just goes toward the skills in the upper right hand corner of the 1059. You will do the usual online discussion board post and answer to a question and respond to your classmates, you will do 2 group projects that will end with a PowerPoint slide deck you will brief by inserting audio files. There is a lot of busy work that really doesnt amount to anything toward your grade or really even knowledge base.
The content is presented through the experiential learning model, which sucks in an online environment when you arent actually talking about the slide decks. The slide decks are very minimal with information so you must read the required reading or the slide deck wont teach you anything.
It is very easy to get frustrated with the class and lack of synch between instructors so keep your head up and power through it.

You 100 percent nailed that answer. I about to finish my last week now. No way are you retaining all that info.

It’s a tough course. Harder than some of the graduate courses I’ve taken in college. The biggest focus is writing and you will do a lot of it.
From a content standpoint, SEJPME and Battle Staff experience will help you with a bulk of the course. From what I can tell, it seems MLC took a lot of information from ILE and applied it to the NCO world. I do not think it is the most effective approach but it’s a good start for a brand new course.
DM me direct if you need any help! My door is always open for fellow senior NCOs. Best of luck to you!

I'm currently enrolled at this time. A Lot of busy work! Prior to the first week you will be asked to write a essay paper. Once the course starts you will enter into a group project that will need completed by Day 28. In between time you will have several PE to complete and several discussion board questions and a ton of reading material. I advised you put everything else aside for 6 weeks

This is what worries me, I am scheduled to start this course in 14 days and I have received no instruction from the school house. I have called and was given a blunt answer of "you'll get the information before class starts." I also work a seven-on seven-off schedule rotating between nights and days and I'm gone 14 hours a day from home for work. That makes it a little hard to "put everything else off for 6 weeks." I am not looking forward to this course.
