I'm about to start the process of reclassing to MOS 27D. Can anyone give me insight on the MOS and how was AIT?

You can't fail the same test twice, but my instructor let us use our notes because you will have the regs in real life situations. They absolutely love to run, 5 mile company run Fridays and 3 mile group runs on Mondays. Fort Lee is great, you get your gold card to go off post about the half way point you are there. It was great, I went back in 2016

I was a paralegal when I was enlisted. AIT can be pretty brutal, as far as the tests. It's been moved to Fort Lee, I don't think the schoolhouse is that far from where 92A did there AIT. You have to make sure you pay attention to everything. During the Article 15 and Courts-Martial Tests, make sure you take your time, read everything carefully, and triple check your specification...seriously, you misplace one comma and you fail the test, you put in an incorrect social, you fail the test, basically you mess up at all on the 2627, or the summary of court martial form(I forget the form number), you fail the test. Just make sure you study the MCM, go over different scenarios, and write and rewrite each spec. Also, study AR 27-10, 27-1, and find any other 27-?? regs, FM, etc., and study those. The MOS isn't just about Article 15s and prosecution, there's also Trial Defense (TDS), Legal Services(basically where you do Notaries, POAs, and admin stuff all day), you can also be a Tax Paralegal, Contract, and yes, a CJ Paralegal for the prosecutors...or you can be a combo of all the above, just depends on where you get sent. Also, it really is a pretty heavy field, with not enough promotion potential, so just make sure you take whatever assignment you can to move yourself up, there are SGM in the legal world, there's also Warrants. Hope this helps a little, and good luck.

I am also thinking of reclassifying to 27D. I am a SSG right now and just wondering if I can reach out to you SSG Johnson?

Have you started your grade waiver to be sent to RCSM. That should be your first step, then try to get some OJT with your BDE legal shop.
