Take a look at DA PAM 600-25. That should help you identify the major positions you need to hold and at what rank. Having knowledge on multiple weapons platforms is always a good idea in my book though

Go to Carson. There is a good chance you can get some Bradley time and also be at an awesome post. Chances are if you don't like heavy they will boot you somewhere else. This is only because it's such a high demand post. A more important question is when do you go to the board?

Unless you are going to EUSA or USFK headquarters (or a support unit), all combat brigades in Korea now are on a 9 month rotational basis. They are treating it like a deployment now for you guys. So to get to Korea, you'd have to go to a unit stateside that was tapped to go.

LTC Paul Labrador - Wow. That is different. I'm not sure how I feel about that. It costs a lot of money to deploy a unit. Even if you fall in on the equipment you have to do a left seat/ right seat kind of battle handoff. Why not leave it as is? I didn't like leaving my old unit to spend a year there, but it seemed to be the most efficient way of manning Korea.

SGT Tony Clifford - they opted towards the "it's better to bring a fully trained unit here vs having 2/3 of your unit either coming or going."

Personally don't agree, but I'm not the one in charge. Also they are only bringing personnel over. All gear stays in Korea, and new unit falls in on it.
