SGT Mendoza,
Currently 25M Soldiers are struggling to get promoted. There are so many E5s that E4s haven't been promoted in 2yrs. If you want to use your skills to the max, I would recommend 25V or 46R. A skilled 25M can be used in some units, like WHCA, DMA or USASOC. But 8/10 times add duties or staff positions. I am a SSG 25M working with AFN. Let me know if I can help out

BTW 25M have ALWAYS struggled to get promoted. I was in from 1995-2000 and points we maxed at 798 the entire time I was is and 10 years past that when I finally stopped looking. I saw them drop a total of 2 times to 720 in 14 years.

They haven't made it official, last time I heard a CSM talk about was in 2015. He mention that by FY20 they will start merging the course. The first time I heard it was 2008.

It has always been a struggle to get promoted. Way back to the days of the MOS being 81E. In a tactical unit you will spend a lot of time on detail.

Spend 6 yrs maxed at E-4 as an 81E, wasn't until I got my MFT designation and finally got a transferred to a higher HQ Unit, then the MOS changed to 25M and I got my E5. I had already been thru all the schools (PLDC, B-NOC, A-NOC) but just no E5 slots. That was a LONG time ago!

SSG Dennis Mendoza If you are interested in being a 25M and graphic design is your passion go for it. However, be aware that you are sacrificing promotion oportunities to do an artistic job. Also, be aware that most units don't know how to use their 25Ms, unless you work in USASOC, WHCA, or the Pentagon.

This is something true I had to fight and step on toes to get to do what i was trained for. I usually had to introduce myself to the unit commander and let him or her know they had a graphic designer at their disposal. Orders were usually cut for me to work directly for top command but it takes some nerves to be that forward. I eventually worked for the joint chief at the Pentagon.

LTC (Join to see) - yes I have sir, the NCO gave me the 368 and 4187 and I tried turning it into my unit but there's a packet that goes along with the forms and the reserve unit admin has taken very long and now I'm waiting on the company commander to do my unit exit counseling and recommendation memo. The company commander already signed the 4187 but that's what's holding me up, going back active duty.

That would be very helpful sir, I just don't want cause any conflict that's all. From a personal point of view I'm not use to being in the reserves, majority of my military career has been active duty.
As you can see my unit is 360th Psychological Operations Company, and of course on here you can see who my commander is.
I see you'e part of USAREC sir, and once again sir thank you.

LTC (Join to see) - Sir, I have been pursuing the conditional release since the end of November/first week of December. I went back in my email sent box to look at the dates.
