I'm currently in the Army Reserves. Next month it'll time for me to either re-up or finish my enlistment. Can I go active then?

I see your comments about a bonus.
Bonuses are tied to MOS (usually), component (sometimes - usually in the Guard), or unit (more rarely in the USAR). The bonus addendum will state what your obligations are. If you were to leave the USAR to go AC, you'd likely have to pay a portion back. But you may also get a bonus for signing up for Active Duty.
As for your current situation, the smoothest path and my advice would be to reenlist in the USAR and pursue a DA 368 to go directly from the USAR to AC. This avoids the possibility of a break in service, which complicates things. It also makes it more likely to retain your current rank.

Great advice from the 1SG. If your goal is to go AD then I would re-enlist and then pursue getting your DA 368 processed as a break in service will make the process of going AD a lot more difficult.
Keep you COC in the loop as to your intentions as it helps having people in your corner when pushing that DA 368 up the food chain...a lot of soldiers that are looking to make the transition to AD get frustrated about how long the process can take as it usually requires quite a few signatures.
Best of luck!

If you reenlist you'll need a conditional release. I think an extension may be more fitting. Either way you need to talk to the retention NCO (active one not only reserves)

TOP is correct, an Army Recruiter can obtain a "conditional release" DA 368 but I would first talk to a AD recruiter( and I would do it now) to see what your options are, as they change periodically depending on the needs of the Army.
Also, you will want to check with your unit to see what your options are if you decide to say in your unit.
Best of Luck

My advice would be to ask your career counselor, since he/she would be the one handling this. If you let them know that you want to go active then they will point you in the right direction. However if you want to stay in the reserves then they would be the ones to help with that. Either way ask them.

SPC Matthew Riello, you took the words right out of my mouth. That was going to be my suggestion.

Could've attempted going active at any time. DD 368 Conditional Release Form from an Active recruiter. I transferred from NG to active using a 368, best decision I've ever made.

I was told I'd have to pay back my bonus, so it would be best to just do my time then transfer.

Ah ok, didn't realize you had a bonus. I got a poke in the eye when I enlisted haha. When you're close to your ETS, go see an Active recruiter and they should be able to square you away no problem.
