I’m looking to join as a 35M in the US Army. What is the good, bad, and ugly about the MOS?

From my so far limited personal experience, I downside is a potentially very long training pipeline. Anywhere from 30-100+ weeks depending on what language you get, or IF you get one immediately. To be followed by schools that are not “required” but are necessary for full integration.
If you get a CAT IV language, expect to be in IET for over 100 weeks.

Great information! I'll be a 35M so on paper it is 19 weeks at AIT, then off to DLI. Its nice to be able to loosely plan everything, especially since I have a wife that depends on the length of time as well. One more question for you- If my DLI report date says January 6 for example, is there any telling for when my actual class start date is?

If you put your class number into ATRRS you should be able to find your exact beginning and ending dates. Be aware that those classes change fairly regularly depending on the amount of people they are expecting.
