I'm PCSing to Carson in April. Does anyone know if you can receive BAH as a single E5 there? And also any tip about PCSing and the area?

No. You'll have to live in the Barracks unless your unit signs off on a "certificate of non-availability" to reside off post which has to be approved by the garrison commander. The area is nice but carson is a different breed of army.

Completely depends on unit. If you get a place stay west of the interstate and farther north.

The pikes peak region where Ft Carson is located has multiple activities that you can do when you are not deployed. You are about an hour away from Denver to the North and Pueblo is only about 40 minutes away. Don't go to Pikes Peak for at least a week after you get there or they will be life flighting you to the hospital for oxygen depravation.
