I only have 3 days to clear post and still need my separation physical. Is this optional or is it mandatory?

SFC (Join to see) - I've seen cases where a guy was going to ETS and for whatever reason the CoC was pissed (ie he was a poor soldier and they just didn't like him or he was a good soldier and they were mad because he was getting out) and they intentionally screwed with the guy up until the last minute to make his/her outprocessing as painful as possible.

LTC (Join to see) - And thats the type of leadership that has no business being leaders. Thats just petty Sir. This is exactly why so many people get out of the military and speak badly about us and make others think twice about joining. Whether its true or not. If thats the case in this instance that is horrible.

MSG (Join to see) - something similar happened to me when I was a CPT. I was in the ARNG and want to transfer to the reserves. Unit closer to home and they had an O4 slot waiting for me. My CoC intentionally drug their heels processing my transfer (BN CO kept "forgetting" to sign my DA 368) so that I missed the cutoff for the promotion board by 3 days. Had to spend an extra year as a CPT. Due to date of rate and timing of the promotion boards they essentially made it take me 2 years longer to make O5 than it should have. I could have reached my high 3 as LTC and retired this coming June. They basically screwed me over because they were pissed that I wanted to leave the unit.

SGT (Join to see) If you give some more details we could probably help you out better. Because if you haven't done a crap load of other things, your separation physical will be towards the bottom of your worry list.
