I reenlisted to a unit that I am not qualified for and it was accepted. The unit is looking at having me kicked out. What can I do?

Ask your unit who your Army Career Counselor is, even if they say there is not one on base you are supported by one somewhere. Make sure your situation is being explained by the them as well and not just by your unit.

The army entirely. I reenlisted for choice of duty station and since I can't go there the contract will be voided and I'll have to leave.

SPC (Join to see), you did not reenlist for a unit (Soldiers cannot reenlist for specific units), but for an area (Pacific long-tour, if you're in Japan) and the unit cannot kick you out for this or have you pay your bonus back.
See your Career Counselor IMMEDIATELY (not JAG/IG) for resolution. They will be able to work directly with HRC's Retention and Reclassification Branch.

The unit security manager (or a higher one, depending on the clearance required) can issue an interim clearance that would solve the immediate problem.
I sense that there is more to this story.
I strongly suggest that you see either a career counselor or retention to get your contract amended. You are an asset to the Army, even if it is not in this capacity. They should be able to find you a new home that will use your skills and give you the tools to succeed going forward.

They wont initiate the investigation since I don't have the 25S1C identifier class which is needed for the specialty job the unit provides. I talked to my branch manager who just said she will research it. Nothing really great to go on right now.

Right, I should've been sent but I wasn't due to some oversight on someone's part. Now the army is putting that duty on the unit to send me which the unit can't pay for. The unit wants either the army to pay for it, or for the contract to be breached and me sent elsewhere/get out.

SPC (Join to see) - MOS schools are typically funded well above unit level, especially if it is in your contract. I think you are in the middle of a silly budget food fight. The school is of limited expense to the unit; all they have to do is fund the travel costs.

Full story. I need a higher clearance and a class but the unit got a harsh budget cut and no one on base will take me so they are just looking to have my contract voided and me removed paying back my bonus and keeping my apartment which I wont be able to pay.

Check your DD 4/1, para 8b. Does it state that the SQI is a condition of the choice unit assignment? If that was left out, it is likely a defective re-enlistment. That basically means they screwed up by making a contract you were not qualified for. That leaves 4 options. 1. Either DA or the unit allocates the training if you are otherwise qualified. 2. You are granted a discharge at your request under what ever chapter covers defective re-enlistment contracts. 3. That contract is voided and you are allowed to re-enlist all over again. 4. Reassignment at the needs of the Army.
Kicking you out for a defective re-enlistment is not an option for the Army, unless you agree to it or ask for it. A fraudulent re-enlistment contract would definitely be. Ie; you lied on your SF86 sec clearance questionnaire and are denied the required clearance.
