If I've been deemed 100% disabled by the VA, how can I get discharged from the Reserves without going through an MEB board or PEB?

I served in Active Duty from 2016 to 2020 (4 years) and switched to TPU with 6 years of contract.
Before I got out, I got injured during the training and was asked if I wanted to go through regular ETS or MEB board. I decided to go through regular ETS because MEB takes 1-2 years.
Then I signed the Reserve contract for 6 years w/ bonus if i reclass, but I didnt reclass.
Couple months later I was told that I am "totally and permanently disabled" by the VA.
I was wondering if there is a way to get discharged asap from Reserve without going through MEB board or PEB.
Or if I switch to IRR, will I be finishing my contract in IRR?

Were you given a P3 or P4 permanent profile yet? If not, then you haven't been referred to a MED Board. You can easily go to the IRR. Get with your Commander and Retention NCO. Definitely ask about if you will have to pay back any portion of your bonus.

SFC I am currently all 1 on my PULHES and only have a temporary profile. I was wondering on how to go to the IRR if I have 4 more years left on my Reserve contract.
I served 4 years Active duty (APR 2016 - APR 2020) and before I got out I signed 6 years Reserve contract (APR 2020 - APR 2026). I am still finishing my 8 year MSO too.
Would I still be able to go to IRR? My unit POC and 1SG don't really know how to initiate the process...

Absolutely ZERO way to be medically discharged without going through an MEB. Not sure the process for reserves, but Active Duty MEB’s usually take around 8 months

MEBs in the Reserves take about the same time, really. It can take longer, depending on the Soldier and the unit. What I mean by this is that depending on where the Soldier has to go for evals, they may very well need to be put on orders. Until that MEB gets issued, we both know that he won't get 100% VA disability.

I’m getting that 100% lol. I don’t understand how this guy is being told he’s permanently disabled from the VA when the VA won’t even rate you until an MEB is initiated or you’ve done a separation physicalMSG (Join to see)

SSG (Join to see) - I was in Active duty and before I got out of AD, I filed for VA claim and went through all VA process and then they rated me 100% while I was drilling in Reserve TPU. All my PULHES are 1 and I was just wondering if there is a way that I could transfer to IRR even if I have 4 years left of my reserve contract.

No, and if they actually would have rated you 100%, then you shouldn’t have been eligible to join the reserves. It would put you on the PRDL but if you have all 1’s, you’re stuck because the conditions you are rated for aren’t disqualifying from service which is hard to believe. You need to speak to medicalSGT (Join to see)
