I think I finally figured out why I do not like talking about deployments with non-vets, have you felt like this?

I got to thinking lately why I do not really talk about the military and specifically deployments with non-vets. I found I cannot articulate effectively in words what the experience was like. To a vet I can say "well you were there so you know" and I don't need to elaborate. Do you feel the same way and explain your experiences with it?
