I want to completely change my military career. Do you have any advice on reclassifying from an Engineering to a Medical MOS?

SGT (Join to see) join the Army Reserves too ;-)
I had a 12N reclass to 68W and he was a great asset to the unit. He knew how 75% or more of the unit did their job and their requirements and likely injuries. This helped him to know what to plan to treat and he was great at both MOSs.

Some of the 68 series MOSs have very lucrative certifications that you earn during the school. 68V, 68D, 68L, 68P come to mind. But here’s the other side of the coin: it is very difficult to get promoted in these MOSs. You will have to max PT, weapons, college, etc to move up and it gets even more competitive at the senior ranks. Many 68 series (who work in the hospital) have bachelors degrees, and many have MS degrees too (I’m working on mine now).
But getting into another MOS is just spinnin’ Your wheels, IMO. Get that degree, then cross over to the dark side and make some real
