I want to reclass and my wife wants to enlist as a 68W. What is it like in this MOS the good and the bad?

Goddam best MOS in the Army up until SSG and you get moved back to the aid station.

Good:
*You learn a skill that no one else has and that civilians with your same license can’t practice.
*You can go anywhere.
*Medics always have a lot of pride in their title and job.
Bad:
*Physically the hardest medical MOS in the Army(compared to 68C, 68K, 68N; etc. you get treated like shit and you are segregated from the rest of them during AIT) their AIT is like COLLEGE with PT twice a week. 68W AIT is like basic with medical information thrown at you through an M240 and your expected to pass and know it or fail out.
*You can go anywhere(even the shittiest places and shittiest units)
*during COVID when everyone else got to stay home, medics in my unit HAD to work cause we were essential personnel. Which kinda sucked. Lol.
I’m a whiskey so if you have any specific questions I’m more than happy to help.

The course is no joke. But like any skill, it's what you make it. You could be in a Line Company or you could be on a Med/Surg ward.
