I was diagnosed with PTSD and granted service connected disability. Can that service connection or diagnoses be downgraded at a later date?

Not if you stay connected and continue with counseling ... depends on your over all report. Some request that you come back for reevaluation. If it's marked as permanate, It will say so in that rating. if you are 100%. they want to see you trying to get better. Believe me you do want to be better. Keep working on it. all the best

Thanks for such a quick response, and yes I do have to go back for reevaluation in 2021.

SPC Marion Patrick - If you get just the right combination of counseling and med attached to VA.... it can help may take some time to get it just right. Does not mean you will be lowered in your rating. stay engaged. I take art class every other wk at Veteran Center. Love my counseling and my VA Doctors. Also, you should know that their is a study out there DNA ask your doctor about it. By way of that test it shows what meds are best for you and which ones are a no no...

First, I am NOT an expert on this so take anything I say with a grain of salt :)
I'm pretty sure I read somewhere in the utter SEA of paperwork out there that once you hit 55 any service connected VA ratings are locked in and can never be removed.
Again, not an expert. Just something I read somewhere, at some time, at some point.
IIRC :)
