I was sent a letter November of 2018 notifying me that my Post 9/11 GI Bill expired. I still have money in there. How do I access my money?

Post 9/11 was approved for the Forever GI Bill. Just go use your GI Bill and it will be there

Oh so it will expires though for Those that already expired
"Veterans whose last discharge or release from active duty is on or after January 1, 2013, will not expire"

SPC Stewart Smith unfortunately I never saw that part before. That kind of sucks, but better than the old 10 year requirement for the MGIB

SFC (Join to see) - the mgib actually let's you convert to the post 9/11 GI Bill and extend it to 15 years. It's what I did.
I was that idiot that took out a bunch of student loans instead of using my GI Bill when I got out so I'm using it now. Figured it can't hurt to get more school and $850 a month

Who sent the letter? My understanding was the Post 9-11 GI Bill didn't expire.
Log in to ebenefits, it should list how much GI Bill you have left.

If you ETSd before January 1 2013, it expires and you can't get anything from it.
It is worth calling the VA and speaking with someone in regards to it.

PO3 Norman Andrew - you're out of luck, probably, but it's still worth calling them. They converted my mgib to the post 9/11 for me so I could finish using it
