I will be getting married this Tuesday and will be getting off-post housing. Will NCOs be able to inspect, like in the barracks?

They are correct. I've been married and living on post for about a year now and have never been inspected or anything. It's nice to be honest.

Yes, however it is not usually the practice. As long as you are getting BAH you are subject to inspection of your quarters. The unit will not just come over and say I am here let me in..I wouldn't worry to much about it, just don't put yourself in a position where the CoC will consider it..

SSG Steven Mangus...yep still wrong! Let me break this down for you. We can't go so Soldier's off post quarters to conduct health and welfares. However, if there is probable cause such as a domestic issue, some illegal activity, child abuse and/or neglect, etc...you would then need to call the local police to conduct the health and welfare. They would conduct the checks not the CoC. Now on post you would also need probable cause. You would then have to talk to PMO and housing. This is because Military housing is privatized. Now you can stop over to say hi, but the SM does not have to let you in the house. The only exception to all of this is the barracks. Things have changed a bit since your BDU days. JAG would eat you alive if you tried that shit today. You're career would be over.

Fair enough, however no soldier is deny his command coming over and doing a health and welfare, which again is not the usual practice. One thing though, your knowledge of the politics and the power of the CoC is stunted.

SSG Steven Mangus - not stunted at all. This is the type of stuff that gets people fired in today's Army. These young Soldiers today know what their rights are, they might not know 5.56 from 7.62, but they know the legal stuff. We just have to be smarter than them. Just do things to the letter of the law and no worries.
