I will be PCS'ing to Fort Hood this June. What can anyone tell me about 15th BSB, 2nd ABCT, 1st Cav? Also, best areas to live in?

Move out Copperas Cove if you dont feel like dealing with the gate traffic
I think 2 ABCT will be deployed by the time you get here, so come ready to hit the ground running.
Do not move anywhere near clear creek, that traffic is disgusting.
Hood is in a great location 2.5hr from Houston, 3hr from Dallas, 1hr from Austin and 2hr from SA.
SHopping outlets in Round Rock (30mins)
Take your DA Photo before you get here, the calendar fills up quick down here.
We have a great new PX
Please dont come here without your NCOer, them CSM will be on you quick.
Thats all i can think of right now.

I just left there, 2ABCT is going to make you bang head against the wall. A lot of jackassery goes on in that BDE. I was in the BEB so I can't talk for the 15th. If you don't mind the commute Harker Heights, Cove, Nolanville & Belton are beautiful areas. But it depends on what type of scenery you like. If you stay in Killeen, stay south of the freeway. The area behind the bridgewood subdivision or the Walmart on Stan schuleter is a real nice area because it's fairly new houses out that way
