If a separate branch was created, what would the Space Force be more like, Star Wars or Star Trek?

Definitely not Star Wars. There's no magical space wizards.
If I were to give it an honest assessment, I'd see it falling more in line with Wing Commander or Battlestar: Galactica.

SSgt (Join to see) In reality it would likely be a really long game of dungeons and Dragons interrupted by the occasional panic over space debris.

Space is already the domain of the Air Force. I don't think there would be a separate branch, but rather a special command within the AF. I think Stargate Command is a more realistic scenario

1SG (Join to see) we do have a Space Command. But Congress is currently pushing for a creation of a 6th Branch - the Space Force.

My guess would be something like Battlestar Galactica mixed with Stargate SG-1.
We're nowhere near to breaking the light speed barrier at any point that any of us are going to be alive and it would need to be well into that point before we started having a "Starfleet" out there exploring the stars.

Of course, that's why it's called science fiction, but it's nice to dream about what might be possible in the far distance future.

Wargames. A bunch of spooks sitting in a mountain somewhere trying to keep the AI from nuking the planet.

If I had to guess, going by what I've seen these days from our honchos, it could be more like The Orville...

If you followed the Space Shuttle program, it will look like that. Space is a hostile environment where any mistake is costly. Advances in technology will allow us to start exploring the far reaches, but this will take many years and be costly. Could we get to a Star Trek environment? Yes. Do we have the will and budget to do so? Questionable.
