If America needs you again, would you be willing to return to active duty one grade lower?

If you read Once an Eagle, you know the hero was up and down in permanent and temporary ranks based on the needs of the military...but you might not know that one of my personal heroes, Gen. Andrew Goodpaster (SACEUR) took a downgrade to 3- star rank to command his beloved West Point. If we had full mobilization or even partial mobilization, what about you?

SGT Wilkins, amen to that. A little humility can go a long way! Nothing is forever, so it's nice to remember that we should do what is needed to pitch in.

In a heartbeat! Worst thing about it, I'd probably be the oldest, out of shape PFC in the Corps.

I would in a heart beat. I would be a 2LT all over again. I don't think it would be really difficult. They really don't have many expectations. But then I would have to salute all those 1LTs. On second thoughts I would have to pass.

CPT (Join to see) Sir do you really want to bring that old debate up again? lol. Even now I agree with you, I think being a private again would do me some good.

I was aiming for salty 1 LT Eric Rosa, and this is why I need remedial training and railroad tracks.

Until my last breath. I will serve and protect our country from enemies external and internal alike!!!

I would always be willing to serve...but I would think the Army would want me at 3-4 grades higher, rather than lower.

I would, and I would be VERY interested to see what the older folks returning would say about the young kids just joining! Perhaps we can use that to help restructure the Army now anyways, it is sorely needed.
