If deemed ineligible for SFC due to new BASD requirements, would you take the 20-year pension or continue to serve over 20?

The current RCP for SSG is 20 years. If you are grandfathered and have the option it is up to you. I would look at getting out if you can retire and are not going to get promoted and there is not some pressing reason to stay in past 20 then get out and make room for some younger soldier that has a chance at getting promoted.

Thx Staff. Makes sense. Been hearing to many rumors Soldiers getting forced out with no pensions, or Soldiers getting promoted that are flagged, or don't even want to get promoted. Other folks busting there was but no promotion. Perhaps it's time to close it out. They say when you know it's time, it's time...lol

SSG Marlin Dammarell - yea that is the thing if you can retire then you should unless there is a reason to stay in. As a Staff well there is probably not much reason to stay in.

PS 91st has active and reserve components and give rank like candy on Halloween, because they own the schools and never fail their own.
