Any school over 20 weeks and yes, your family can accompany you. You need to have them on your orders. It should be that you will be restricted during the first 2 phases of AIT, just as the other trainees, but after that you can live with them.

Even so, being prior service you will not have the same restrictions as new trainees.

I reclassed and had to stay with the new recruits the whole time. It pretty much boils down to space and availability of accommodations. If you do as it was suggested, then you have a better chance of not being treated like a recruit again.

I had a medic reclass to Fox and he brought his dependents. Lived in on post housing. I was IET and had to wait until I hit phase 5+, submit the paperwork, got it approved to live off post 5 months after arriving

I appreciate it I don’t mind living on post i was just curious if I would be able to go home or would be restricted until a certain phase

SPC (Join to see) Not sure if they made any changes to phases. There's drill sergeants now, not sure if they mess with prior service. Usually formation with the while company 1700 and you're good to go after
