If I attended a PME course and decided to take leave later, would that have any affect on how future promotion boards would view the NCOER? I’m facing 30+ days of use/lose. I haven’t been afforded the opportunity to take leave or use my COT travel entitlements due to COVID & the stricter policies in place overseas. Side note: I’m currently serving in an assignment that’s a 1 year tour. I haven’t taken leave in over 2yrs. What would you guys recommend? Should I try to use these entitlements? I’m more concerned with how this NCOER would look to board members or with broadening assignments.

You'll just have a month of unrated time. Plus it's an E5 NCOER everything is simply MET STANDARD or DID NOT MEET STANDARD.

You've listed yourself with the rank of Private. Privates do not get NCOERs. Based on that alone, your question raises eyebrows on the validity. The fact that you are saying you haven't taken Leave in two years, and listing yourself as a PVT raises eyebrows about the validity. A 42A asking about Leave and NCOERs raises the eyebrows.
But to answer the question: Taking Leave has no effect on the NCOER in regards to the bullets that have to be put on. You are going to need to take Leave or lose a buttload of days. Simple as that.

It says PVT because this is an old profile from when I first joined. I mostly get on every now and then to read about topics already discussed. I just never got around to updating my profile. Thanks though!

SSG (Join to see) might want to update it to keep the confusion that I had from further happening. Just my recommendation. But, the issue of the Leave and NCOER stays the same. LEAVE should not negatively impact an NCOER unless the Rater and Senior Rater want to be D-Bags.

Thank you for the response! This will only be my second NCOER & I wasn’t sure if it would have an impact on centralized boards/assignments in the future!

Not at all. Remember, your time in PME is still rated time, it is just captured on a different form. If you plan to take 30+days, then it would be a specific non-rated code which escapes me right now. No issues. Also, I recommend you take leave more.
