If I came in as a Specialist and have 24 months time in service and time in grade, am I in the primary zone?

Came in as a specialist . 24 months ‘Tis and tig .. am I in primary zone for E4. i know 17 months tig and tis as gave me secondary zone ..?

Time Requirements for Sergeant Recommendation:
• Secondary Zone – 17 months TIS, and five months TIG.
• Primary Zone – 35 months TIS, seven months TIG.

I’m the same. At 18 months we hit SZ, 35 months PZ some companies just won’t send you to BLC or the board until you hit PZ. That’s how mine is and I’ve made points the last 3 months in a row.

SGT (Join to see) You are and MP take some schools that pertain to your MOS, and additional classes in about anything. This will Garner you Promotion points the more points the faster you get picked up for PZ you should be able to talk to your COC and get more info on what the best classes to take are to move forward for Promotion and leadership schools.

As far as I know, promotions are based on a points system. You need enough points to be granted the next rank. Volunteer to go to whatever schools open up. PLDC or whatever they call it in your unit., generator operator, bus driver, anything. Get more points.
