If I completed SSD III before SSD II was created and I completed WLC, do I need to complete SSD II? I'm receiving a lot of mixed answers, has anyone experienced this or know the proper process at this point? Would I be "grandfathered" in?

You need to complete SSD II if you did not complete ALC common core. You need to do one or the other. The nice thing is that you have SSD III complete so you can go to SLC shortly after ALC.

I was in the same boat, but I had completed ALC Common Core already also. My unit still had me do SSD2 just so there was no question. Honestly it doesn't take long and it certainly won't hurt to do it.

Thank you SSG Seabaugh. Yes, I'll complete the course and it really won't be too bad. SSD III was more time consuming as I did it as a new SPC and it was all way more than I expected to know. It was good to go through SSD I just for the sake of doing it.
