You don't get follow on orders for Korea, you receive a HA/AP. Korea requires 6 months on your ETS date from when you return CONUS. That means your ETS must be 7 months past your DEROS. You will receive assignment instructions no later than 6 months prior to your DEROS once you arrive in Korea. Korea is a 1 year tour unaccompanied, so your DEROS will be 12 months after arrival.

You’re welcome. Enjoy your time in Korea, it’s an amazing place. I went there in 2012 on a one year tour and ended up staying 3 years.... Good Luck to you WO1 (Join to see)

If you are a first termer Soldier (1st enlistment) you can only PCS twice during enlistment. If Korea will be your 2nd duty station, I highly encourage you to call your branch and have a conversation with your assignment manager. Even if you volunteered for the assignment that is something he should have explained to you.

If I head to Korea this February unaccompanied, and my ETS is in 2021, will I have to stay in Korea until my ETS?
