SPC (Join to see) - Then you must go to BLC to be promoted to SGT. Look up the STEP program. There was a waver for guard to be able to be promoted and then go to school I don't know if that is still in place but either way you will need to at one point attend BLC.

I have the same issue. I promoted to Sergeant in 2002 without PLDC. ETS'ed and re-enlisted in the NG in June of 2017. I lost my rank because I did not have PLDC/WLC/BLC or whatever its called now! TIG started over, but TIS carries over. I will have to attend BLC before I can promote back to SGT. It makes sense for a guy like me with a fifteen year break in service.

I mean, it's not like I forgot how to be a leader! I think it's a waste of everyone's time...

SPC (Join to see) - But you did not go to school like you should have. NCOES is and has been important. Don't look at as a punishment look at it as a challenge go to BLC and get promoted.

I believe if you took the comparable course in the Marines or took it while in the Guard you should be good, I had a soldier while in the Reserves who took the Basic NCO Course while in the Marines and was able to get it credited, you need to talk to your S-1 about this and supply them with any paperwork you have.
