If I make E-5 without BLC under SMAPP, will a gaining unit send me to BLC at a later date or is BLC completely waived?

From what I understand, SMAPP mos' allow a e4 to pick up 5 without blc after ait graduation. Will a gaining unit still send that e5 to blc at a later date or is blc completely waived?

Have patience with this. I was sitting in an E9 slot when I retired. My unit wouldn't send me to SLC because I wasn't 2% or more under body fat limit (I was in standard, just not 2% under). Be sure to develop yourself so you are ready when you do get promoted. There is nothing wrong with moving forward with your SSD beyond what is expected of you, and for seeking out opportunities for professional development within your current unit.

BLC is never waived. Your promotion is effective once you graduate BLC and your new MOS

SFC (Join to see)
SPC (Join to see) SMAPP doesn't require BLC, SMAPP is a program. You can enter an MOS under SMAPP if you don't have the required NCOES.
You can read the MILPER Message for SMAPP for all the details. There's a copy loaded into Armyreenlistment.com so you don't have to dig through the messages on the HRC website
