I love the espirit de corps and the legacy of this division. I like the area and I'm near my family and in-laws. My wife says that if I have to PCS somewhere farther away she will not come with me. What is the likelihood I will get to remain here if I renew my contract? Thanks.

Unfortunately moving is part of the Army think long before you take chances with your life. If your wife is serious about not going with you reenlisting could mean the end for you all. I love the Army and couldn't imagine my life without it but I would never let the Army cost me my family. So take a good look at your choices and way the possible outcomes to come to your decision good luck and God bless.

Can you find a way sure. I've been stationed at Fort Bragg for 21 straight years. However, what happens when the Army finally says you have to leave? You need to get her on board now. The Army pays your check and gives you the security your family is enjoying. If she can't get on board, you will have to decide what is more important to you, the military or your wife. Its a little harder decision if you already have children. If you haven't had any, I would wait until you decide. In my personal opinion, find a new one. The world is a great place that you will never see because you decided to get married early in life. You will never reach your full potential being in one place your whole career. Believe me I know.

I have a kid from a previous relationship. This is the best job I ever had and I don't want to lose this opportunity.

PFC (Join to see) - Then you better do some soul searching and realize where you want your life to go. Its hard being married and in the military. No question about it. If you cannot find a wife that adapts to the lifestyle and supports you, you will never get that far. My wife is the reason I am who I am.
