I have a quick question. My component is army reserve and I submit the DD 368 which is changing to active component, but if I request for AGR program and If I get accepted then is this gonna give damage or effect to my DD 368 processing(Which means get rejected from changing to Active duty)?

How do you expect to go active and accept an AGR tour at the same time?

I waited 2 years from when I submited my first 368 and still waiting and I submited almost 5 times right now. Sgt I'm trying to write the letter to congress or federal( I'm not sure which one it is), if you know how, would you please explain to me how?

CPL (Join to see) your unit isn't obligated to release you so your letter to congress doesn't really mean anything. I just mean, how do you think you'd be able to go active while accepting an AGR tour? You can't do both at the same time and once you finish your AGR tour your release would have expired

So I went from ADOS Guard to M Day Reserve to TDG Guard. From that last move I went Fed Tech with my unit and finally AGR. My two cents make a list of pros and cons and stick with a track. Side note it took my 368 over a year to process out of the reserves. A lot can happen in that time.

AGR is not a for sure thing. It can take a year to get accepted or you might not get accepted at all. It’s a waiting game for AGR. Your best bet is to go active duty. Plus a conditional release can take up to a year.

If I submit a DD 368 to go active, and then get accepted for AGR, will it damage or effect my DD 368 processing?

You won’t be able to do both. If you’ve waited 2 years to be released from the Reserves you might want to just consider going AGR. If I’m not mistaken, after you finish your AGR tour if you still want to go active, you can re-enlist into active duty. SFC (Join to see) can you confirm that for me?

What if his contract is up after his AGR tour is over? Would he have to REFRAD back to TPU or would he be completely free to make his next choice?SFC (Join to see)

SSG (Join to see) he'll be REFRAD back to his TPU to finish his contract. No matter what, he still belongs to the RC he's just on an AGR tour.

So I got 4 years left right now as reserve component and if I do AGR and finish my 4 years, then am I free or do I have to stay in? I don't get what you explained sergeant
