If the Army has a smaller force, why not bring in Prior Service?

The Army DOES allow prior service to join back up, but there are limitations ... so what exactly is the real question? The REDD Report question from below? Something else?

Did you "ask" and where told no, or did you submit a formal request* and were told no?
If you didn't do the later, then fill out a SF 180 and submit it. The only reason medical information would be withheld from you is, "if determined that the information would be detrimental to the patient's physical or mental health or would likely cause the patient to harm herself or someone else"

CPL Sheila Lewis - Follow the instruction on the SF 180 and submit the request to the appropriate agency. In your case (assuming you separated after 1/1/2014), this would be entity #9 (AMEDD Army Record Processing Center).

There is nothing preventing eligible Veterans from re-enlisting or coming back. Prior Service recruiters are eagerly standing by. Accessing the REDD is a different question all together and is normally limited to those in recruiting/retention circles.

CPL Sheila Lewis According to the website the type of information isn’t necessarily ground breaking but it is protected information and a clearance is required.

CPL Sheila Lewis Looking at the screen shot of the website the information on the REDD report should be information you already have. It just won’t be in the format they use for the REDD.

• Access online yourself? No.
• Look at some other way? Doubtful (unless you can leverage a relationship with someone that has access and doesn't mind possibly getting in trouble for sharing it with you).
• Find out if your 'prior service' information makes you eligible for reenlistment, contact an Army recruiter.
Unless I'm mistaken, you should already know what's going to be on the REDD Report concerning you. Is there some reason you suspect the information is incorrect?

It seems like that's only available for those in the recruiting community to access. A recruiter can access it - probably not you or other prior service no.
They do accept prior service if they meet qualifications/standards.
