I am working battalion Staff Duty, our battalion commander is currently having a meeting with quite a few others of the same rank. If the BC leaves before the other lieutenant colonel‘s do I still call the building to attention?

your building, your CO. By virtue of position he outranks every other officer of the same rank in the building, call it.

Yes, because it's the BN CDR. You are calling it for them and not the other Officers. When in doubt, call it.

Just don't call "at ease" for a CSM when there is an LT in the room. LOL

LTC (Join to see) - I once had this CSM that wanted "At Ease" called...even if there were already Officers in the building. He wanted to make sure everyone knew he was in the building.

MSG (Join to see) That sounds similar to: ‘Man on floor/deck’.

You call it when he leaves for the day. That's how it was whenever I was on BN or BDE staff duty. You call attention when BC comes in for the day and when they leave for the day. Same with CSM you call at ease when they come in and when they leave.
