Yes, if you have a Service disability above 30% you are eligible (you must have been added to the TDRL or PDRL .. which should happen before you are separated) for TRICARE for you and your family.

just make sure you are enrolled.

Sir,
I had to log in just to thank you for this tidbit of EXCELLENT info! I am now wondering why at my retirement briefing this information was not disseminated.
Thank you again!

SFC (Join to see), I mentioned this on another thread, but core of my comment is that there is a difference between a "Military disability rating" and a "VA disability rating".

It wouldn't be something that is covered in a standard retirement briefing because the standard way you're going to get a military disability rating is by going through the IDES process (i.e., getting medically boarded in the military).

Yes, a spouse of a medically retired Army member who is over the percentage to get Tricare is also eligible for Tricare. The spouse must be registered in the Defense Enrollment Eligibility Reporting System (DEERS) and meet all other eligibility requirements.

The spouse of a medically retired Army member who is over the percentage to get Tricare is eligible for the following Tricare plans:

TRICARE Prime
TRICARE Select
TRICARE Standard
