If you are still a private and have successfully completed ranger school, is BLC required to become an NCO?

If you're a PFC Ranger School graduation is an automatic promotion to E4. As soon as you have the TIS/TIG requirements and are promotable you are given 799 points and promoted to SGT without BLC, with the requirement that you must attend BLC within a year.

SFC Marc W. it's always been automatic promotion to E4 and max points for E5, but promoting without BLC is a relatively new feature they implemented about a year ago

SPC Juan Rosas if you are Ranger qualified, your S1 has to email HRC Enlisted Promotions Banch directly to integrate you to the SGT eligible promotion list with 799 points

SPC Juan Rosas I had this same problem as an E4 in 2006/07 trying to get promoted to SGT. My BDE S1 SGM told me that this only applies to the 75th, but that's not true. Unfortunately, I wasn't able to get my promotion corrected and had to make the points for my MOS (667 points 6 months later), but you don't have to suffer. Email the enlisted promotions branch and ask for their guidance on Ranger qualified promotions. You should be integrated immediately after getting your tab and promote a month or two after with the requirement you attend BLC within a year.
Take that email to your S1 immediately to get integrated.
Congratulations on passing Ranger School, Brother. Hit me up on IM if you have more issues
