SGM (Join to see) I think we all have parts of jobs we wish we could have done better, some are more haunting than others. Part of what has helped me, is recognizing there is no way to redo something that is done, and all I can do is improve my own actions in future similar situations.

I know this answer isn't quite in keeping with the spirit of the question, but my reaction to the prompt was pretty solemn.

For, I would go back to the 11th Armored Cavalry Regiment (Blackhorse) in Fulda, Germany. I spent 6.5 yrs in the Blackhorse during the 70s and early 80s. It was there that I developed my leadership skills as a noncommissioned officer, being promoted to CPL, SGT and SSG there. But instead of doing that over again, I would want to go back and serve in the SFC, 1SG and SGM capacity and take it forward.

I had an amazing career and awesome assignments after leaving the Blackhorse, but I always tried to get back there and to this day feel I missed out on serving once again with the finest unit and leaders I served with in my Army career.

As a life-time member of the Blackhorse Association, I've been back for 2 reunions 2000 and 2005 in Fulda, retying old relationships and friendships both US and German. Plus I plan to attend the "Last Patrol" Reunion on the former East-West Border in April with our German Friends and former counter parts from the other side of the Iron Curtain.

Yeah, It would be the 11th ACR in Germany...no second thought about it.

I think I would like to go back to Fort Campbell and redo a few things. I really learned a lot there.
